The Human Rights Reporting Award (HRRA)
A portion of all workshop fees are earmarked to provide scholarships for journalists from developing countries to attend future workshops and towards creating an annual Human Rights Reporting Award.
The annual award will recognise excellence in human rights reporting and acknowledge the journalists contribution to public awareness of a human rights issue.
Entries will be evaluated with an emphasis on:
- Depth of research, analysis and presentation of a particular human rights issue
- Quality of presentation of filmmaking, reporting or photography
- Impact and the potential for promoting understanding and effecting change in attitudes at public, NGO or political levels.
A cash award intended for continued documentation of human rights and broadening the greater understanding of human rights issues.
A panel of human rights professionals will judge all entries. (Announced at a later date)
Application procedure will follow. Deadline for submissions is 31st December 2017.
